Some commentators however are starting to question whether China’s steel production has already reached a turning point, and if this is so my advice to our readers is not to get bullish on iron-ore companies any time soon. continue…

Don’t yield to income!
Russell Muldoon
March 12, 2015

As a result of these low interest rates, funds are being ripped out of the safety of cash and poured into riskier assets in the pursuit of higher returns. continue…

Telstra’s losing muscle
Roger Montgomery
March 12, 2015
Just when baby boomers are pouring their hard-earned savings into Telstra’s (ASX: TLS) high dividend yields, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has announced a price change for regulated infrastructure that weakens the company’s moat. It therefore has more meaningful financial implications – through long-term valuations – than the immediate impact on prices. continue…

Roger Montgomery
March 7, 2015
In this column published in The Australian, Roger looks at baby boomers being forced into a narrowing band of sufficiently high-quality company shares with stable income, where price to earnings ratios are reaching multiples that simply won’t be sustainable over the next few years. Read here.
