Roger Montgomery
November 9, 2023
In my recent article with Firstlinks, I wanted to highlight why the S&P/ASX 200 has shown minimal capital gain over the past 16 years, with only a 0.02 per cent total capital gain and an annualised capital gain of 0.00182 per cent per annum. The main reason as to why this is the case, dividends. continue…

Ausbiz – Does the recent rally have legs?
Roger Montgomery
November 3, 2023
In this week’s interview with Ausbiz, I wanted to discuss the potential for a continued equity rally. I cited a report from a Canaccord strategist who believes the environment does set the stage for a further rally. This is partly because, in the strategist’s view, the U.S. economy will slow down very rapidly. In fact, they put the probability of a recession at 99.9 per cent, and with stocks outside of the Magnificent Seven already lower – the U.S. Bank equity index has already been smashed by 50 per cent – it’s way too late to be negative now. So is the bad news already priced in? Watch the full interview here Ausbiz – Does the recent rally have legs?

Roger Montgomery
October 26, 2023
In last week’s interview with Ausbiz, I wanted to give my view on the stagnant performance of the ASX 200 over the last 16 years due to Australia’s tax-incentivised dividend policies. I also wanted to highlight how this approach leaves little for reinvestment, leading to flat returns. We delved into more insights during the interview, so if you want to hear the full discussion, have a listen to it here: There’s a good reason the S&P/ASX200 has gone nowhere in 16 years…
