ABC Newcastle Mornings – market volatility

I recently joined Paul Turton on ABC Newcastle Mornings to discuss the market turmoil triggered by Trump’s tariffs. Investor sentiment plays a significant role in the rise and fall of markets, and right now investor confidence is shaken. During this segment we explored what investors should keep in mind during this period of heightened volatility.

Focussing on the quality of the business is important when deciding which stocks to invest in. Businesses with sturdy foundations, that aren’t heavily exposed to tariffs, and have weak competition, may be considered high-quality business. When deciding whether to buy or sell shares in a company experiencing volatility, it is wise to assess whether any short-term challenges they are facing are temporary or if they are signalling a permanent shift.

Tune in from 38:19 – 46:14, to listen to the full segment.
