Farewell to TK

Farewell to TK

It is with mixed feelings that I announce Tim Kelley’s (aka ‘TK’) retirement from Montgomery Investment Management, effective 30 September 2021.

No doubt a difficult decision for Tim, he leaves Montgomery in a stronger position for his material contributions since joining the firm in 2010 as its fourth employee.

Tim’s impact goes beyond his stock picks, his role as Portfolio Manager for The Montgomery Fund between 2011 and 2019, his analysis, and the establishment of many of the quantitative elements of our investment process. He has also been a rock and the cornerstone in most of the negotiations our firm has navigated during its establishment and growth.

Indeed, Tim’s final project and legacy has been drafting our investment guidelines to integrate environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) considerations into our investment process.

I greatly appreciate Tim’s keen insights, his robust and enduring contributions to the culture and success of Montgomery Investment Management, his patient and respectful disposition, and his friendship.

It is with sincere and very warm wishes that I thank Tim for his contribution to the life of our firm.

Tim remains a shareholder of Montgomery Investment Management and a good friend to all of us.

As a proficient surfer, we hope and pray for perfect waves to carry Tim and his beautiful family into and beyond the next phase of their lives together.  With genuine and heartfelt thanks we all wish Tim the greatest joy and the very best.

We invite all readers to extend their good wishes to Tim in the comments section.
