Welcome aboard Andy Macken

Welcome aboard Andy Macken

We’re delighted to announce that Andy Macken joins Montgomery today as Senior Analyst.

Prior to joining Montgomery, Andy gained a high distinction average in his Masters of Commerce at UNSW, while also working as an Associate at Port Jackson Partners – the strategy-consulting firm founded by former McKinsey directors.

In 2008, Andy headed overseas to study an MBA at Columbia Business School in New York. There, he was handpicked to attend the Security Analysis course – the very same course founded by Ben Graham and attended by Warren Buffett. He graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from Columbia University, which puts him in the top quintile of MBA graduates globally. And for a final flourish, he made it onto the Dean’s List too.

After graduating from Columbia, Andy worked for four years at Kynikos Associates LP – the world famous hedge fund founded by Jim Chanos. Jim made his name profitably shorting Enron.

Needless to say, Andy impressed the socks off us and I am personally extremely excited to be exposing the full range of Australian listed company managers to his unbiased scrutiny for the benefit of all investors in both Montgomery funds.

Welcome aboard Andy, we are all looking forward to working with you for many, many years.

Sincerely,

Roger Montgomery
